Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry converts overlapping photographs into measurable spatial information. TO3D develops fit-for-purpose datasets for mapping, visualization, documentation, measurement, and comparison over time.

Typical deliverables

  • Orthomosaic imagery
  • Dense point clouds
  • Digital surface and terrain models
  • Textured 3D models
  • Contours, measurements, and mapped features

Where it helps

  • Topographic and site mapping
  • Construction progress and quantity review
  • Infrastructure and asset documentation
  • Environmental monitoring
  • 3D visualization and digital records

Accuracy by design

Achievable accuracy depends on image resolution, camera geometry, overlap, control, site conditions, and processing choices. Requirements are defined before capture and checked against the intended application.

From imagery to usable information

1. RequirementsDefine accuracy, coverage, coordinate system, outputs, and acceptance criteria.
2. AcquisitionCapture consistent overlapping imagery and any required control or checkpoints.
3. ProcessingAlign imagery, reconstruct geometry, georeference outputs, and generate deliverables.
4. Quality reviewCheck completeness, spatial consistency, and deliverable suitability before release.

Anarak: a city captured in three dimensions

Take a virtual tour of Anarak’s historic built environment through a textured 3D model. Buildings, streets and terrain appear together, illustrating how photogrammetric reconstruction can preserve visual context and support urban and heritage documentation.
